Dallas, George Mifflin
(10 jul. 1792, Filadelfia, Pa.–31 dic. 1864, Filadelfia).

Político estadounidense. Era hijo de Alexander J. Dallas, quien se desempeñó como secretario del tesoro (1814–16). Fue senador durante un período que no se había completado (1831–33) y luego fue ministro en Rusia (1835–39). Fue elegido vicepresidente con James K. Polk (1845–49). Como ministro en Gran Bretaña (1856–61), obtuvo la renuncia de ese país al derecho que aducía de registrar los barcos en alta mar. La ciudad de Dallas, Texas, fue nombrada así en su honor.
